Abstract

A finite element-based, integrated process model is presented for precise prediction of the thermo-mechanical-metallurgical behavior that a strip would reveal as it passes through the entire finishing mill. The validity of the proposed model was examined through comparison with measurements. Then, a series of simulation is conducted to investigate the variation of the distributions of the grain size and fraction of recrystallized microstructure and mechanical properties both along the strip thickness and length. © 2004 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
