Abstract

The article discusses a study on the efficacy of artificial pancreas (AP) in type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients using intensive insulin therapy. Results showed the applicability of AP in a controlled setting for T2D patients on intensive insulin, and the possible translation of improved glucose control into improved time for targeting a range of complications. Also noted is the need to weigh the technology's benefits against the costs and complexity of AP systems.
