Abstract
- The authors reflect on some simple rules for scientific software firms to successfully host internship programs for students based on employers' perspective. Among the tips are conducting a thorough interview, planning for the interns' arrival by selecting projects in advance, and introducing the work environment and common tools used. Also cited is the need to assess the interns' performance to determine if they can return for another internship or they can be future hires.
