Abstract

The article offers information on the dry eye therapy, nasal stimulation. Topics discussed include the parasympathetic nervous system that controls tear film homeostasis through innervation of the lacrimal functional unit which include cornea, conjunctiva, and lacrimal glands; the approach of doctors to develop nasal neurostimulation devices and pharmaceuticals; and changes meibomian gland activity and lipid layer thickness due to neurostimulation.
