Abstract

The article offers poetry criticism of the poem "undercurrent" by Rita Wong. The poem contemplates intertwined environmental and social harms which occur at Site C dam in British Columbia, when settler desires to retain the status quo discourage people from caring for and working with water. The poem articulate how water's shared reliance serves as a link between settlers on Turtle Island and Indigenous peoples.
