Abstract: The article presents a research study on glycated hemoglobin A1c levels in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and outcomes after myocardial infarction (MI). The study comprised all T1DM patients who had an MI between 1995 to 2013 in Sweden, identified using the National Patient Register. It is concluded that higher HbA1c levels were associated with a greater risk of recurrent MI, death, and heart failure.
