Abstract
- This research's aim was to conduct a survey about what is the profile and demands of Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) music courses students in 2016 and relating their reality in a reflexive way with the music education philosophy proposed by Elliott. 54 students (License, n= 23 and Bachelors, n=31) from second, third and fourth-year answered a questionnaire composed of 47 questions. Some demands like positive and negative points regarding the courses and the students' interest in the curriculum of the music courses were highlighted in self-reports, specially about on what could be changed. Results were discussed through music education philosophy proposed by David Elliott to contribute to the establishment of a theoretical basis for a debate on the pedagogical project of UFPR music courses.
