The article discusses what is termed the white supremacist rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2018, the 150th anniversary of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and what the author identifies as growing racism and nationalism in the U.S. during the early 21st century as demonstrated by explicit and implicit dehumanization via legally institutionalized segregation in housing and racialized health outcomes.
