The article outlines the constant longing of Paul VI for peace and, in particular, examines the motivations for which he came to establish the World Day for Peace. It indicates how Paul VI prepared the Message for this Day, how it was disseminated and how it was received. In addition to this, it recalls the renewal that Paul VI, with audacity and prophetic spirit, introduced into the life of the Church.
