Abstract
- The article discusses the Mexican writer, radical and social critic Paco Ignacio Taibo II and his appointment to head the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE) publishing house in Mexico, including Taibo's enthusiasm for reading in Mexico and his running the literary festival Semana Negra ('Black Week') in Mexico. An overview of the relationship between leftist Mexican intelligentsia and the Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is provided.
