Abstract

The article presents considerations with regard to the assessment of digital badges in education. It outlines the assessment to be through three levels, which include within badges, across badge programs and through badge ecosystems. Topics discussed include the role of libraries in the open educational resources movement and the presence of metadata fields in an open badge.
