Understanding fascism as a historical construction makes it possible to distinguish it from those phenomena that both public opinion and certain members of academia label as such; it also enables us to differentiate its effects and expressions from the logic that institutes it in the social fabric. Fascist societies bring into play an enjoyment similar to that currently promoted by the market, thus generating similar totalitarian relations in subjectivity. All of this makes comprehensible the emergence of fascist forms of relation in the contemporary world. For this reason, it is essential to understand how enjoyment circulates in group life and the singular nature imposed by fascism on the relation with that enjoyment, as an effect of the entrenchment of the categorical imperative of modernity.
