Abstract
- Abstract The quarter wave plate made of spun birefringence fiber with complex-tangent spun rate profile has the exact analytical solution to the coupled-mode equation with variable coefficients. Based on the solution for wave plates with this profile, critical constraint between the normalized fiber length and the normalized maximum spun rate is analyzed according to typical specification. For given actual fiber length and maximum spun rate, the optional range and optimal value of beat length of prototypical birefringence fiber are deduced and figured out. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
