Abstract

The importance of needs analysis to foreign language teaching was acknowledged in the last several decades. However, it has not been commonly applied for curriculum development of foreign language courses. Therefore, it will be discussed in this article, how a task-oriented needs analysis about the foreign language use and needs of Chinese employees and its outcomes could be used in vocationally oriented German courses in Chinese colleges.
