- Describes the distribution of CD4+ T-cell lymphocytes in HIV-1-infected pregnant women in Abidjian, Cote d'Ivoire diagnosed during prenatal voluntary counseling and testing. Assessment whether HIV-related immunodeficiency influenced the acceptance of an antiretroviral package to prevent mother-to-child transmission; Systematic performance of the CD4 count among study participants; Significance of the maternal immune status.
