REPRESAS HIDROELÉCTRICAS EN LOS ANDES VENEZOLANOS: PROBLEMÁTICA AMBIENTAL, CRISIS ENERGÉTICA Y ENERGÍAS ALTERNATIVAS.

Hydroelectric dams are an important component of electricity generation in Venezuela. However, the electricity sector is undergoing through a crisis of great importance due to bad policies, little investment and lack of maintenance of facilities generating electricity. In this study, the Andean hydroelectric plants are analyzed within the national context and the main environmental and energy problems in the area are identified.
