Abstract

The article discusses a study on the cases of smouldering Waldenström macroglobulinaemia (SWM) in the U.S. Topics include clinical definition of WM, diagnosis of SWM, and difference between SWM and Immunoglobulin M (IgM)-monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and active WM. Also mentioned are the higher prevalence of SWM among males and analysis of WM patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database.
