Abstract

It was shown that the binding thermodynamic parameters (free energy, enthalpy and entropy) of ligands to nucleic acids (NA) may be determined through the spectrophotometrically obtained adsorption isotherms. It was shown that the binding enthalpy can be determined with higher precision (difference in values not more than 5%) from the adsorption isotherms. Calculations showed that the studied ligands (doxorubicin and netropsin) form tighter complex with B-form NA, than with A-form. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
