Abstract

The article offers insights for dental professionals regarding the diagnosis and treatment of dry mouth. Topics discussed include the difference between xerostomia, which is a dry mouth feeling due to reduced saliva flow, and salivary gland hypofunction (SGH); role of saliva in system disease diagnostics; symptoms and assessment of dry mouth; and product recommendations for patients with dry mouth.
