Quasidistribution of phases.

Abstract We derive and discuss a quasidistribution for phases in line of earlier investigations of quasidistributions in quantum optics and their sampling. We illustrate it for classical and quantum fields as well as at the quantum–classical border generated by nonlinear optical processes, such as optical parametric process and Raman scattering. A new nonclassical property of optical fields related to their phases is derived. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
