Abstract

A relationship was developed which accurately calculates the effective dielectric constant ℇeff as a function of width-to-height (b/t) ratios for printed structures such as bow-tie antennas on electrically thin substrates. The impedance and impedance–frequency relation of bow-tie antennas on electrically thin substrates were experimentally determined. Radiation patterns of bow-tie antennas and collinear bow-tie antenna arrays on electrically thin substrates were also measured, and the results are presented. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
