Abstract

Diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) as an emerging diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging technology is based on non-Gaussian model. Compared with conventional diffusion technologies, i.e., diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), DKI could be more sensitive to water diffusion in tissue microenvironment and can offer more plentiful diffusion information. DKI was originally used in the central nervous system. In recent years, the preliminary results about applications of body DKI has been obtained.
