Advancing the economics of noncommunicable diseases in the Americas.

An editorial is presented on advancing the economics of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the U.S. Topics include emergence of evidence of cost-effectiveness and new recommendations made by the World Health Organization following the adoption of the Global Action Plan; Pan American Health Organization committed to strengthening its Member States' capacity to use economic evidence on NCDs to advocate for government approach to NCDs for development and implementation of evidence-based policies.
