Abstract
- The author discusses some important issues that registered dental hygienists should consider regarding scaling and root planing for patients in the workplace. If a patient refuses definitive treatment, the refusal should be documented. Dismissing anyone who does not agree to definitive therapy is said to be the safest route. The author said that social media has emboldened patients to post negative reviews that can lead to great damage to a practice.
