Abstract
- The article discusses the authors' views about whether sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors should be used as a first-line oral therapy for type 2 diabetes patients, and it mentions the individualization of therapies to manage hyperglycaemia. Metformin therapy for diabetics is addressed, along with information obtained from the British UK Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS). Microvascular and macrovascular complications from diabetes are assessed.
