Abstract

An interview with Akira Hiruma, president and chief executive officer (CEO) at optical equipment provider Hamamatsu Photonics KK, is presented. When asked about his favorite technology displayed at the Photon Fair, Hiruma mentions his interest towards integrable phase-modulating surface-emitting lasers (iPMSELs). He also notes their method of promoting applications as well as points out his efforts in meeting the needs of clients.
