The objective of this theoretical essay is to discuss the advances made in dealing with transsexual issues. Initially, it is argued that the discussions that cover sexuality is something recent that has come to be debated from the Feminist Movements. In the meantime, there is an opening for questions regarding homosexuality to be addressed, providing greater social visibility to transsexuals. At the heart of these discussions are topics that were highlighted in this theoretical essay and which refer to the constitution of the identity of transsexuals, the juridical aspects that involve transexuality and the public policies focused on the health and safety of these individuals.
