Abstract

The article discusses the study by a team of psychologists led by Jonathan Rottenberg of the University of South Florida and published in the "Perspectives on Psychological Science" which proposes a definition for "high functioning after depression" (HFAD). The team reportedly argued that the belief that depression is chronic and recurrent is overstated as people can recover and thrive after depression. Also explored are the characteristics to be categorised as HFAD.
