Abstract

In order to investigate properties of high ductility cementitious composites (HDCC) for repair,which is made with domestic polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber and normal river sand,three series HDCC with different strength grades were prepared. Experiments were carried out to study HDCC properties, such as mechanical properties, bending toughness, uniaxial tensile properties, drying shrinkage, relative permeability coefficient and adhesive tensile strength. Test results show that HDCCs with 2% (volumetric ratio) of PVA fibers have excellent bending toughness, ultimate tensile strain greater than 1.75% and obvious strain hardening and multi-cracking. HDCCs' drying shrinkage develops rapidly during the first 14 days and tends to be stable after 28 days. Relative permeability coefficient of HDCC decreases as the age increases. Adhesive tensile strength between HDCC and substrate ranges from 3. 0 to 4. 1 MPa, and increases with HDCC compressive strength. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
