Abstract

To analyze the cognitive level and clinical evolution of patients with TBI sequelae in a rehabilitation reference center. A descriptive, quantitative and retrospective study of documentary analysis. Aiming to identify clinical aspects from the analysis of sequelae in the initial examination and at a later time (evolution) of the patient after rehabilitation. Patients older than two years of age, of both sexes, were included, resulting in a final sample of 88 charts analyzed. The data were collected and exported to the IBM SPSS 23 program, performing the descriptive and referential statistics of the data and represented by means of tables. Of the patients with sequelae of TBI, at the initial examination the majority were non-ambulatory patients (51.14%) who obtained a community walk without assistance after rehabilitation (52.11%). The present study demonstrated that most of the patients in the rehabilitation process in a reference center were young adults, males and victims of motorcycle accidents. It has been observed that they are persons with permanent sequelae and that they lose the labor capacity, resulting in a significant reduction of the economically active class. It is recommended that more studies be done to reduce motorcycle accidents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
