Abstract

The article focuses on the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) which aims to engage patients in research in a variety of roles, including identifying research questions, designing studies and contributing to decisions on recruitment, data collection and analysis of findings. It mentions that competencies, coupled with evidence of the benefits of patient-oriented research, are reinforce commitments to the patient oriented research agenda.
