Abstract

Two-dimensional (2D) nanosheets have drawn great attention because of their interesting electronic and chemical properties since the isolation of graphene in 2004. This book chapter would summarize recent advances in the electrochemical oxygen-relative reactions, such as oxygen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction by using electrocatalysts of graphene and its derivatives and also other 2D materials. From the mechanistic point of view, the link between structure and activity of these 2D nanosheets is discussed. Strategies that are effective to adjust electronic structure in these 2D materials and thereby catalytic activities are emphasized. Future opportunities and challenges in this field are outlined.
