Abstract
- The article focuses on gender and psychological threat in Fin-de-Siècle mummy fiction. Topics include Romantic poet Robert Southey stated to have lamented the fashion for Egypt that swept across Europe in the wake of Napoleon Bonaparte's expedition, and a triad of complementary interests in archaeology, the supernatural, and psychology stated to have arisen at the fin de siècle.
