EL ESTUDIO DE LOS PROCEDIMIENTOS DE FORMACIÓN DE PALABRAS EN EL LÉXICO MILITAR MODERNO: LA DERIVACIÓN VERBAL.

The aim of the present work is to analyse the verbal derivation procedures that interceded in the formation of a significant part of the war terminology during Spanish Renaissance. The study is preferably based on the corpora of the Dictionary of Science and Technology of the Renaissance (DICTER), which is composed by the thirteen most influential military treatises written in Spanish in the sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth. This historical period stands out for the impulse that military language takes on in the new scientific status, which will start modernity. By depeening in the study of some of the most relevant morphological procedures that are part of the creation of specific vocabulary, we expect to reach a bigger and better knowledge of the Spanish military vocabulary of the modern age, as well as claim the need and convenience of undertaking surveys based on corpora.
