Abstract

This paper describes a test program to assess wind pressure coefficients for potential designs of various windcapture means proposed for use in a prototype fabric evaporative cooling tower. For one case, no capture device was incorporated in the scale model experiment (i.e., a simulated wind was directed normally across the open end of the duct). The second case used a five-gore elbow whose open end was oriented directly into the wind. The third case consisted of a duct with a rectangular aperture facing directly into the simulated wind. Measured wind pressure coefficients are reported for each case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
