Immuno-Oncology: Another Option for Treatment of Cancer.

The article discusses some issues to consider with regards to immuno-oncology or immunotherapy for treatment of cancer. It is said that less than 5 percent of patients with cancer can benefit from existing immunotherapy because of the limited actionable targets. Seven principal steps in the antitumor response are outlined. The four main categories of immunotherapy include checkpoint inhibitors, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, monoclonal antibodies, and oncolytic viral immunotherapy
