- The article examines the effect of the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examination on the mental health of younger students. Topics discussed include reports of students having panic attacks during their revision and bursting into tears after leaving the exam hall, a study that exam boards are producing GCSE-style test papers for children as young as 11, and the impact of this trend on the curriculum.
