Abstract

The article discusses genetic reassortment occurring in segmented viral genomes. The relation between mixed infected cells and genetic reassortment as well as barriers to the efficiency of reassortment is also discussed. The reassortment behavior in viruses such as orthomyxoviridae, reovirus, and bunyamwera is mentioned.
