Abstract

The natural gas storage (underground reservoir) is an efficient process that combines constant supply of natural gas through pipelines with variable market demand which depends by the weather or economic considerations. During summer, when the transport capacity of the pipeline exceeds consumer demand, the natural gas is stored in order to be taken more often in winter when the gas consumption greatly increases. The natural gas extracted from the oil and gas deposits are used increasingly more to meet energy needs. The inflexibility gas production from these fields does not meet market demand variable. The underground storage of natural gas for adjust the gas supply to meet fluctuating demand, is used as a common technology since 1915. In this article will be analyzed the natural gas storage facility from Bălăceanca, both geologically and historically production conditions of economic efficiency point of view.
