Abstract

The article explores whether a wholeblood-variant test could perform with high sensitivity and specificity in prevention of the need for venipuncture and sample processing infrastructure and development of a low-cost point-of-care (POC) test. The study involves the testing performance of a lateral flow immunochromatography-based Toxoplasma ICT IgG-IgM test. The potential for POC testing for Toxoplasma infection to change clinical approach to the infection by detecting seroconversion is tackled.
