Abstract
- Challenges the traditional narrative of politics and authority in colonial North Carolina by arguing that an interpretation heavily focused on the jurisdictional boundaries of the colony oversimplifies the regional diversity and complexity of political authority in eighteenth-century North Carolina. Factors that led to political disagreements between regions; Effect of Cary's Rebellion on North Carolina government; Overview of the Lower Cape Fear region of North Carolina between 1725 and 1775.
