Abstract

The article reports on the large-scale tree planting initiative started by the Texas Trees Foundation and the Federal Trust for Public Land, in partnership with the U.S. Nature Conservancy, in Dallas, Texas in 2016. Topics discussed include the goal of the community-focused initiative is to reduce the heat and respiratory issues face by the region, the association between the increase in heat and the built environment, and the increase in asthma cases.
