Abstract
- Advanced theoretical thermodynamics are used to correlate experimental data predicting the melting point for polymer-based gel through melting point depression (MPD). The Flory interaction parameter is used to investigate the effect of temperature on phase behavior, and to integrate the MPD equation. The results are correlated with data from two theoretical studies. The data shows satisfactory agreement with one of these studies, but not with the other study. All the data acquired through different resources, as well as the experimental approaches that were used, have been summarized. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
