It is very meaningful to open the rapid tooling course for improving level of advanced manufacturing practice courses in the engineering training. Based on the problem analysis of existing vacuum casting equipment, considering teaching openness for teachers and convenience and security of operation, numerical controlling vacuum casting laboratory equipment was developed. It has a high automation degree, simple operation and security. The hardware and software structure and features of the device were introduced in detail. The typical practice case was also introduced. The reform injects a new element for the practice of engineering training course, and plays a certain role in promoting teaching reform of the course.
