AGRICULTURA FAMILIAR: DESAFIOS PARA A SUSTENTABILIDADE NOS MUNICíPIOS DA COSTA OESTE PARANAENSE.

They were identified in relation to the family agriculture units of municipalities in the West Coast Region of Paraná, based on the diagnoses raised by ADEOP - Paraná Extreme Development Agency between 2010 and 2012, their main productive activities, their probable environmental risks and waste situation, the conditions of its equipment and facilities and its future goals; in relation to the municipalities, information was collected on the municipal visions related to family agriculture and its commercialization channels. The research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive in terms of typology, deductive in relation to the method and with a qualitative-quantitative approach. It is concluded that in the region studied there are several challenges for the development of family agriculture: the ecological dimension, the environmental risks established, the economic and social dimensions, the prevalence of conventional production systems and the lack of commercialization channels in the cultural dimension the loss of local knowledge and regional culture.
