Abstract

The article discusses how stage actors prepare for their role in a theatrical production. Topics include a decision by a Canadian teenager to kill his mother to prepare himself psychologically for the role as a parricide in a high school production of "Oedipus Rex," insights from actors about acting, and different characters in various plays like "Miss Saigon" "The Good Woman of Szechwan" and "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter."
