In this paper; a theoretical relationship between IPRs and import is tried to be find. For this, A data set was created. This data set includes 20 countries data between 1996-2012 dates. Using that data in panel data analysis, the relationship between IPRs and Import will be found. In this study; indicator of IPRs is patent applications. There is an assumption that is patent applications have a meaningful effect on import. In this context, objective of the study; Inspection of a cointegration relationship between foreign patent applications and import of developing countries. Results of analysis tell us there are not any cointegreation between import and IPRs for developing countries. Neither long nor short run relationship could be found. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
