Abstract

The article focuses on a study related to use of vasopressors in sepsis when hypotension is assumed to be mainly due to a decreased arterial tone. It mentions that vasopressin did not decrease overall mortality in a large randomized controlled trial (RCT) compared to norepinephrine in septic shock. It also mentions about the Midodrine that was approved in the U.S. in 1996 for orthostatic hypotension.
