Abstract
- In the title compound, [(tBuSiMe2O)2MoO2(2,2'-bipyridine)] or [Mo(C6H15OSi)2O2(C10H8N2)], the MoVI atom has a distorted octahedral environment with the siloxy substituents occupying the trans positions. The complex contains a rare (R3SiO)2MO2 (M = Mo, W) structural motif and was formed in a reaction between sodium molybdate and tert-butyldimethylsilyl chloride in the presence of 2,2-bipyridine. In the crystal, neighbouring molecules are linked by C-H...==Mo hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along the a-axis direction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
