Abstract

The article focuses on gradual accumulation of rhyolitic magma in the upper crust beneath Laguna del Maule, Chile. It states that the rate of growth of a rhyolite-producing magma reservoir is determined through the measurement of a deformed paleoshore surface, isotopic dating of volcanism and surface exposure. It refers to the consistency of the long-term rate of magma input with reservoir freezing and pluton formation.
